Privacy Policy

Information We Collect

Account information: your email address, and — only if you choose to provide them — your first name and last name.

Assessment data: your ratings for the 72 workplace skills, your selected language and state, and any saved assessments you create, including any free-text notes you choose to add to a saved assessment.

Payment information: when you purchase access, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not receive or store your full card number — Stripe handles that directly and shares with us only what's needed to confirm your purchase (e.g. that payment succeeded).

Website usage data: we use privacy-focused, cookieless website analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) to see aggregate page views, visitor counts, and general geographic/referral trends. This tool cannot identify you individually and stores no persistent identifier on your device. We do not use advertising or tracking technology of any kind, and no cookies are set beyond the one strictly necessary to keep you signed in (see "Cookies" below).

Technical error reports: when something breaks in our service, we use an error-monitoring tool (Sentry) to receive a technical report so we can find and fix the problem. A report contains the error message, technical details of where in our software it happened, the page address (without any query string), and general browser/device information. It is set up not to include your name, email address, IP address, cookies, or your assessment answers, and email addresses that appear inside error text are automatically removed before a report is sent.

How We Use Your Information

To create and maintain your account, and to let you sign in securely.

To run the skills assessment itself: computing your Holland (RIASEC) personality type, career cluster matches, and occupation matches from the ratings you provide.

To let you save, view, restore, and delete your own past assessments.

To process your one-time payment and confirm your purchase.

To communicate with you about your account (e.g. email confirmation, password-related messages) — we do not send marketing email today, and if that ever changes we will only do so with your consent and a clear way to opt out.

Legal Basis for Processing

Where GDPR applies to you, we rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract (running the assessment and account you signed up for), your consent (for the optional profile fields — first name and last name — and for any saved notes you choose to add), and our legitimate interest in operating and securing the service, including understanding aggregate site usage through the privacy-focused analytics described above, and detecting and fixing technical errors through the error monitoring described above.

Who We Share Your Information With

Supabase, our database and authentication provider, which stores your account and assessment data on our behalf.

Stripe, our payment processor, which handles your payment details directly.

Vercel, our hosting provider, which also provides the privacy-focused website analytics described above — it never receives your name, email, or any information that identifies you individually.

Sentry, our error-monitoring provider, which receives the technical error reports described above. Reports are designed not to identify you individually.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Data Retention

We keep your account and saved-assessment data for as long as your account remains open. You can delete an individual saved assessment at any time, and you can delete your entire account at any time from your Profile page — doing so permanently removes your profile and all saved assessments.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing.

You can exercise most of these rights directly, without contacting us: edit your name/email from your Profile page, download a copy of your data ("Download My Data"), or permanently delete your account ("Delete My Account") — all from the Profile page.

International Data Transfers

Our service providers (Supabase, Stripe, Vercel, Sentry) may process data in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on those providers' own safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for these transfers.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use one strictly necessary cookie to keep you signed in between visits. Our website analytics (Vercel Web Analytics) does not use cookies or any other persistent identifier on your device — it only produces anonymous, aggregate statistics such as page views and general visitor counts, so it does not require consent under applicable cookie laws. Our error monitoring (Sentry) likewise sets no cookies. We do not use advertising cookies.

Children's Privacy

For individual accounts created directly by a user, this service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 years old. If you believe a child has created an individual account and provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

For accounts created or provisioned by a school, school district, college, or other licensed organization, students may be younger than 13. In that case, the organization is responsible for providing any privacy notices and obtaining any parental or guardian consent required by applicable law (such as COPPA or FERPA in the United States) before provisioning student accounts — see the Terms of Service's Eligibility section for more detail.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you directly.
